Rock climbing and abseil at Mt. Ngungun and hiking Coomera Circuit
This weekend the weather was better than expected, so we set off towards Mt Ngungun to do some easy rock climbs. Unfortunately, it had just rained at the mountain and the rock wall was something between slippery and a waterfall which made climbing these easy routes a tad bit more challenging. While there we met new friends Sophie and Josh and after trading ropes on pitches they invited us to go for a 60m/200' abseil with them. We walked to the top of the fliff and enjoyed the very high and scary abseil down. Afterwards Oksana went back ro Brisbane and danced like crazy at the greek festival. Sunday the weather was perfect so we made our way to Lamington NP and hiked the Coomera circuit which was filled with one waterfall after another in a rainforest. Once we reached the scenic rim of the massive volcano we climbed atop Mt. Merino and had a dizzying view. We had to be at least 200m above the valley below. This would make an epic abseil, and simultaneously cross state lines.
